Factores genéticos asociados a la obesidad en indígenas americanos: una revisión sistemática

Abstract

Obesity is the excessive accumulation of adipose tissue, as a consequence of energy deterioration, currently worldwide obesity significantly affects a large part of humanity, the United States being the country with the highest rate of obesity in its population worldwide. worldwide Weight gain in the population is related to various external factors such as excessive food intake, sedentary lifestyle, however, there are some with genetic determinants in a single gene that directly lowers the weight of the person suffering from these determinants. The goal of this study was to identify specific genes associated with obesity in Native Americans. For the study, a systematic review was carried out with its correct PRISMA regulations. The search was carried out in the PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, Lilacs and Scielo databases. It has been highlighted that ethnicity can be a potential genetic factor that can modify the percentage of fat in relation to the body mass index (BMI). Native Americans selected for the study underwent various genetic tests showing they had genetic variations related to weight gain. In conclusion, the genetic variants presented in the Native American results were shown to be associated with obesity, however it is not a conclusive genetic factor
