Diagnóstico de la oferta – demanda del transporte terrestre rural intracantonal del Cantón Azogues

Abstract

In Azogues Canton, the rural intra-cantonal land transportation service, which should be appropriately developed about a supply and existing demand balance, is a necessity due to the lack of private transportation or access to others. The objective of this research is to analyze the parameters involved in the calculation of the intra-cantonal rural land transport system of Azogues Canton through the application of resolution DIR. 108 ANT - 2016 to generate guidelines that define the quality of service in this means of transport. For this, a descriptive - non-experimental methodology with a quantitative and transversal approach was used, surveys were applied to the passengers, and an observation sheet to drivers of the transport units. The results showed that on one side, according to the opinion of the transportation users, the quality of service is poor. Many of them use it only because of the low rate and consider the service is regular. On the other hand, the service supply meets the requirements of the demand, such as bus stops, frequencies, and the number of units. In conclusion, the supply and demand relationship is unbalanced due to the lack of passengers because of the health emergency.
