Evolución del diagnóstico y tratamiento del virus sars-cov2. Una revisión sistemática.

Abstract

Covid-19 is an infectious pathology whose etiology comes from the SARS CoV-2 pathogen discovered in late 2019, which at that time had no relationship with any disease affecting humans. The initial lack of knowledge on how to approach the diagnosis and treatment of patients with the SARS CoV-2 virus ended up in the high mortality rate and the rapid spread of the disease, bringing with it different social, economic, political, and of course health problems. Methodology: A meta-study of systematic review type under a qualitative approach with 13 studies taken from databases such as Scielo, PubMed, Redalyc, ProQuest, Google Scholar, and the Catholic University of Cuenca databases. Findings: The evolution of diagnosis to establish the SARS-CoV2 virus began to consider the identification of seasonal influenza. The PCR test was developed, and it was a more effective process to determine the presence of the virus, the rapid diagnostic or antigen test, and antibody tests as well. Conclusion: Regarding the treatments for the disease, it is said that they evolved along with the disease. Nowadays, different procedures, equipment, drugs, and other resources are available to control the transmission and spread of the virus, but they are not intended as a definitive cure. Chloroquine, azithromycin, remdesivir, anakinra, baricitinib, and sarilumab are among the most used drugs.
