dc.descriptionIntroducción: la hiperplasia endometrial es un problema de salud mundial, que afecta a una gran cantidad de mujeres en edad adulta, generando entre sus consecuencias más significativas el cáncer endometrial, la misma que se asocia a un sin número de factores prevenibles y modificables.\nObjetivo: determinar la prevalencia y los factores asociados a hiperplasia endometrial, en el Hospital “Luis Fernando Martínez”, de la ciudad de Cañar durante el periodo enero 2015 – 2017.\nMétodo: estudio descriptivo, analítico y de corte transversal, el universo fue de 345 pacientes que acudieron a esta institución y según los criterios de inclusión y exclusión se obtuvieron 99 registros clínicos completos, para las variables de tipo cualitativo se trabajó con valores absolutos y relativos, y para las cuantitativas la media y el desvió estándar, y para la comprobación de la hipótesis el Chi cuadrado (<0,05), OR, y IC 95%.\nResultados: la prevalencia de hiperplasia endometrial en mujeres que acudieron al hospital “Luis Fernando Martínez”, fue de 54,54% en rangos de edades comprendidas entre los 40 y 59 años, asociadas a factores significativos tales como la edad, síndrome de ovario poliquístico, antecedentes familiares, el síntoma más común la metrorragia y el tipo más frecuente fue la de tipo simple sin atipia con un 80,80%.\nConclusiones: los porcentajes de prevalencia de hiperplasia endometrial es alta y los factores asociados principales fueron: antecedentes familiares, SOP, la edad, lo que se relaciona con otros estudios.es_ES
dc.description.resumenIntroduction: endometrial hyperplasia is a global health problem, affecting a large number of women in adulthood, generating among its most significant consequences endometrial cancer, which is associated with a number of preventable and modifiable factors.\nObjective: to determine the prevalence and factors associated with endometrial hyperplasia, in the "Luis Fernando Martínez" Hospital, in the city of Cañar during the period January 2015 - 2017.\nMethod: descriptive, analytical and cross-sectional study, the universe was 345 patients who attended this institution and according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 99 complete clinical records were obtained, for the variables of qualitative type we worked with absolute and relative values, and for the quantitative the mean and standard deviation, and for verification of the hypothesis Chi square (<0,05), OR, and 95% IC.\nResults: The prevalence of endometrial hyperplasia in women who attended the "Luis Fernando Martínez" hospital was 54.54% in the age range between 40 and 59 years, associated with significant factors such as age, polycystic ovarian syndrome, family history, the most common symptom metrorrhagia and the most frequent type was the simple type without atypia with 80.80%.\nConclusions: the prevalence rates of endometrial hyperplasia are high and the main associated factors were: family history, PCOS, age, which is related to other studies.es_ES
