| dc.description | En las comunidades de Gualay y Chaullayacu pertenecientes a las parroquias Victoria del Portete y Tarqui respectivamente, los habitantes presentan problemas para acceder al suministro de agua potable.\n Entre los problemas que afectan al sistema, se destaca, la carencia de un proceso de tratamiento para el agua que proviene de la fuente de abastecimiento, caudal insuficiente para satisfacer la demanda de los usuarios en ciertas épocas del año, exceso de presión en distintos puntos de la red de distribución y falta de mantenimiento del sistema.\n Esta investigación comprende un desarrollo progresivo de diferentes etapas que inicia con la recopilación de bibliografía relacionada, antecedentes del sistema, encuestas socio económicas a los usuarios, levantamientos topográficos, recolección y análisis de muestras de agua, estudios de evaluación previa del funcionamiento del sistema, elaboración de planos, modelación de redes, cálculo y diseño de unidades y análisis de resultados con el fin de lograr un rediseño óptimo del sistema de agua potable existente.\n Luego de determinar los elementos que debían ser intervenidos para mejorar el sistema, se procedió a caracterizar el agua proveniente de la fuente, para determinar la tecnología de tratamiento que más se acomode a las condiciones del agua cruda, por lo que se diseñó un sistema de tratamiento mediante filtración en múltiples etapas FiME.\n La red de distribución se modeló en el software WaterGems, donde se determinó los sectores problemáticos, y se realizó el rediseño para corregir las presiones con elementos reductores de presión.\n Luego del proceso de rediseño, se determinó que el agua obtenida del proceso de tratamiento, se encuentra libre de contaminantes y puede ser consumida sin riesgo para la salud. La red de distribución presentó presiones dentro de los parámetros normales de funcionamiento. | dc.description.resumen | In the communities of Gualay and Chaullayacu belonging to Victoria del Portete and Tarqui parishes respectively, people have difficulty accessing the potable water supply. \n Among the problems affecting the system, it stands the lack of a treatment process for water from the source of supply, insufficient flow to meet the demand of users at certain times of the year, the excess pressure at various points in the distribution network and lack of maintenance. \n This research is a progressive development of different stages that begins with the collection of related literature, history of the system, socio-economic inquest users, surveys, collection and analysis of water samples, prior studies evaluating the performance of the existing system, network modeling, analysis and design of units and analysis of results in order to achieve an optimal potable water system redesign.\n After determining the items that should be tapped to improve the system, we proceeded to characterize the water from the source to determine the treatment technology best suited to the conditions of raw water, so the system was designed with treatment by multi-stage filtration. \n The distribution network was modeled in WaterGEMS software where problem areas are identified, and the redesign was done to correct pressures with pressure reducing elements. \n After the redesign process, it was determined that water from the treatment process is free of contaminants and can be consumed without risk to health. The distribution network filed pressures within normal operating parameters. Operation and regular maintenance for all components of the water system was recommended. | es_ES |
