dc.descriptionOBJETIVO: Determinar el índice CPOD en escolares de 12 años de la parroquia El Vecino de la ciudad de Cuenca, 2016. \nMATERIALES Y MÉTODOS. La presente investigación es de carácter cuantitativo con un diseño descriptivo, se realizó una investigación de campo con una técnica observacional con una temporalidad transversal, dentro de la muestra de estudio se efectuó una totalidad de 183 fichas epidemiológicas de la parroquia El Vecino, que corresponde al total de fichas registradas en el estudio epidemiológico de salud bucal para esta parroquia. RESULTADOS: La caries dental en la parroquia El Vecino es más prevalente en el sexo masculino con el 92.78%; en cuanto al sexo femenino se presentó una prevalencia de caries del 71.87%; en cuanto al índice CPOD según la Unidad Educativa encontramos que en la escuela Juan Montalvo es de 6.40; en cuanto al Índice C.P.O.D en la parroquia El Vecino, el nivel de severidad de caries dental es alto, el valos del índice CPOD es de 5,07.es_ES
dc.description.resumenOBJECTIVE: To determine the CPOD index in 12-year-old students from El Vecino parish in the city of Cuenca, 2016. MATERIALS AND METHODS. The present investigation is of a quantitative nature with a descriptive design, a field investigation was conducted with an observational technique with a transverse temporality, within the study sample was made a total of 183 epidemiological files of the El Vecino parish, corresponding to the total of records registered in the oral health epidemiological study for this parish. RESULTS: Dental caries in El Vecino parish is more prevalent in males with 92.78%; Regarding the female sex, a caries prevalence of 71.87% was presented; as for the CPOD index according to the Educational Unit, we find that in the Juan Montalvo school it is 6.40; Regarding the C.P.O.D Index in the El Vecino parish, the level of dental caries severity is high, the vales of the CPOD index is 5.07es_ES
