Resumen
To evaluate Problem-Based Learning (PBL) as a didactic alternative for teaching Global Bioethics in the Biopharmaceutical career at UCACUE in Ecuador. Single-episode PBL was used to teach Global Bioethics. Active learning methods, group work and the solution of a real contextual problem (Is the ban on GMOs in Ecuador ethical?) were used using the 5E technique. The teaching tasks were face-to-face and virtual in university spaces and real environments. The PBL was evaluated by qualitative methods. A positive impact on learning was confirmed with an increase in the level of assimilation of students towards deep learning. The students and teacher satisfaction with the PBL method was high. PBL constituted a didactic alternative for teaching and learning global Bioethics in the Biopharmaceutical degree in Ecuador.
