Control glucémico con el sistema híbrido de asa cerrada en pacientes con Diabetes Mellitus Tipo 1

Abstract

Introduction: Closed Loop Systems in patients with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus have provided adequate insulin management, a significant improvement in time in range, and a lower Glycosylated Hemoglobin however these systems only work well in the absence of prandial glucose intakes and it is for this reason that it is difficult to prevent episodes of hyperglycemia. At present there is an improved system called "Closed Loop Hybrid System", it offers better glycemic control, reduction of hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia. These systems have implemented an algorithm where the patient can enter the amount of carbohydrates ingested, this system can also be used in its "automatic" mode, where the system predicts an episode of hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia and sends an alert signal to the user. The Closed Loop Hybrid System has been shown to have better glycemic control, improvement in time in range, a reduction in HbA1C. They represent the most current, effective and safe form of automatic insulin delivery available to patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus.
