MATERIALES Y METODOS: EL PRESENTE ESTUDIO ESTÁ ENMARCADO DENTRO DE UN ENFOQUE DE LA INVESTIGACIÓN CUANTITATIVO, MEDIANTE UN DISEÑO DE INVESTIGACIÓN DESCRIPTIVO, POR EL ÁMBITO DE CAMPO, UNA TÉCNICA OBSERVACIONAL Y POR UNA TEMPORALIDAD TRANSVERSAL ACTUAL; MISMO QUE CONTÓ CON UNA POBLACIÓN DE ESTUDIO DE 416 ESCOLARES MATRICULADOS EN LAS ESCUELAS DE LAS PARROQUIAS RURALES DE LA CIUDAD DE AZOGUES EN EL PERIODO 2018, UNA VEZ APLICADOS LOS CRITERIOS DE SELECCIÓN, LA MUESTRA QUEDÓ CONFORMADA POR 387 NIÑOS DE 12 AÑOS DE EDAD, SE APLICÓ TAMBIÉN EL COEFICIENTE KAPPA OBTENIENDO UN 85% DE CONFIABILIDAD. RESULTADOS: DE ACUERDO A LA PREVALENCIA DE CARIES SE VIO QUE EL GÉNERO MASCULINO FUE EL MÁS AFECTADO, EN CUANTO A LA EXPERIENCIA DE CARIES AMBOS SEXOS SE ENCONTRARON DENTRO DEL ÍNDICE MUY BAJO, SE CONCLUYE QUE LA PIEZA DENTAL CON MAYOR GRADO DE AFECCIÓN SE PRESENTÓ EN LA PIEZA # 4.6, Y POR ULTIMO; EL CENTRO EDUCATIVO CON MAYOR AFECCIÓN DE CARIES; FUE LA UNIDAD EDUCATIVA JAVIER LOYOLA.es_ES
dc.description.abstractOBJECTIVE: To determine the prevalence of dental caries in schoolchildren aged 12 years old in the rural parishes of Azogues 2018. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This study is framed within a quantitative research approach, through a descriptive research design, by the Field scope, an observational technique and a current transverse temporality; same as that with a study population of 416 and a sample of 387 12-year-old children enrolled in the schools of the rural parishes of the city of Azogues. RESULTS: According to the prevalence of caries the highest prevalence was observed in the Male sex in the Very Low index; also agree the prevalence of caries, according to the CPOD; the highest index was observed in the Sick level with an equality in both sexes; on the other hand as regards the dental piece with the highest degree of affection; the highest prevalence was presented in part 46. and finally; the educational center with the greatest affection of caries; it was the Javier Loyola Educational Unit.es_ES
