Influencia de la caries temprana e impacto en la calidad de vida del niño. Revisión bibliográfica

Abstract

AIM: To evaluate the impact of early childhood caries on the quality of life of children under 71 months of age through the ECOHIS scale. MATERIAL AND METHODS: A bibliographic review of scientific articles was carried out, consulting bases such as: Pub Med, Scielo, Academic Google, Scopus, in Spanish and English languages, with a restriction of 5 years old, regardless of the type of study. The abstracts were reviewed to verify if the article was valid for the research. RESULTS: The results obtained were that all articles reviewed agree that children with early childhood caries (ECC) have a negative impact on quality of life according to the ECOHIS scale. CONCLUSIONS: Early childhood caries deteriorates the quality of life of the child and the father, it does not only affect it physically, in the functions of chewing, phonation, feeding, but also psychologically in the aesthetic part, situations that will be reflected in the normal growth and development of the child.
