| dc.description | Antecedentes: Estudios en España indican que las causas más frecuentes de fracturas en los adultos jóvenes son el 78% por caídas y el 18,3% golpes. En mujeres la incidencia de fracturas osteoporóticas es superior a los hombres frecuentemente en la cadera. (1-2)\nTítulo: Prevalencia y Factores Asociados a Fracturas en los Pacientes del Área de Traumatología del Hospital Abel Gilbert Pontón Guayaquil-Ecuador, Febrero-Julio 2015.\nObjetivo: Determinar la prevalencia y factores asociados a fracturas en los pacientes del área de traumatología del Hospital Abel Gilbert Pontón Guayaquil-Ecuador, Febrero-Julio 2015.\nMateriales y Métodos: Estudio básico, cuantitativo, descriptivo y de corte transversal. El universo incluye los pacientes del área de traumatología. La muestra no probabilística consecutiva constituida por 74 pacientes. La técnica fue la encuesta y el instrumento un formulario previamente aprobado. En el transcurso de la investigación se garantizaron los procesos bioéticos. Los datos fueron analizados en el programa SPSS15.00 (versión evaluación).\nResultados: Del total de la muestra el 70,3% son hombres y 29,7% mujeres, los más afectados los adultos jóvenes con el 56,8% y el 24,3% los adultos mayores, el 78,4% son fracturas cerradas y el 21,6% son fracturas abiertas, las principales causas son; caídas 40,5%, golpes 27%, impacto 24,3%. Asociados el 43,2% al consumo de alcohol.\nConclusiones: De los pacientes del área de traumatología, las fracturas cerradas tienen un alto índice que las fracturas abiertas, las causas más frecuentes son las de caídas, golpes e impacto asociadas al alcohol. | es_ES |

In women, the incidence of osteoporotic fractures is higher than men, often in the hip. (1-2) Title: Prevalence and risk factors associated with fractures in patients in the Traumatology area of Abel Gilbert Pontón Hospital, Guayaquil-Ecuador, February-July 2015. Objective: To determine the prevalence and risk factors associated with fractures in patients in the Traumatology area of Abel Gilbert Pontón Hospital, Guayaquil-Ecuador, February-July 2015. Materials and Methods: basic study, quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional. The universe includes the patients in the area of traumatology. The sample non-probabilistic consecutive constituted by 74 patients. The technique was the survey and the instrument a previously approved form. In the course of the investigation was guaranteed the bioethical processes. The data was analyzed in the program SPSS15.00 (evaluation version). Results: Of the total sample the 70.3 % are men and 29.7 % women, the most affected young adults with the 56.8 % and 24.3 % of the older adults, 78.4 % are closed fractures and the 21.6 % are open fractures, the main causes are; falling 40.5 %, beating 27 %, impact 24.3 %. Associated the 43.2 % with alcohol consumption. Conclusions: In patients in the area of traumatology, closed fractures have a high rate than the open fractures, the most frequent causes are the drops, bumps and impact associated with the alcohol. | es_ES |
