dc.descriptionAntecedentes: La maternidad temprana suprime las etapas de maduración de la adolescente, trayendo consecuencias sociales como deserción escolar, dificultades económicas, falta de paternidad responsable y frustraciones sociales. (1)\nTítulo: Prevalencia y factores asociados al embarazo en adolescentes en el Hospital de la Mujer y el Niño. Cuenca – Ecuador, Febrero a Julio 2015.\nObjetivo: Determinar la prevalencia y factores asociados al embarazo en adolescentes en el Hospital de la Mujer y el Niño. Cuenca – Ecuador, Febrero a Julio 2015.\nMateriales y Métodos: Estudio básico, cuantitativo, descriptivo de corte transversal, el universo está constituido por 20 adolescentes del Hospital de la Mujer y el Niño. La muestra no probabilística consecutiva constituida por el total del Universo. La técnica fue la encuesta, el instrumento fue un formulario previamente validado. En el transcurso de la investigación se garantizaron los procesos bioéticos, los datos fueron analizados en el programa SPSS 15.00 (versión evaluación).\nResultados: En la población estudiada encontramos que el 30% están en la adolescencia media, el 50% tienen recursos económicos bajos, el 75% son solteras. Los factores asociados al embarazo fue: por curiosidad en un 80%, el 55% no les hablaron de sexualidad en casa, y el 85% no planificaron sus embarazos.\nConclusiones: Las situaciones sociales asociadas al embarazo en adolescentes se destacan con mayor porcentaje la falta de información en casa, sus embarazos no fueron planificados y lo hicieron por curiosidad.\nPalabras claves: adolescencia, embarazo, factores asociados.\nDeCS: Embarazo en Adolescencia.es_ES
