Estrategia educativa en salud oral aplicada a mujeres gestantes que acuden al distrito 03D01-Salud período 2017-2018

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: Apply the educational strategy in oral health to pregnant women who come to District 03D01 - Health period 2017 - 2018. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The methodology applied was an observational research of transversal and descriptive type, applied in a total of 102 pregnant women, in whom a questionnaire was applied that evaluates knowledge in oral health, in turn the questionnaire consists of 22 questions in which four themes were related: preventive measures, oral diseases, attention during the pregnancy and dental development, after the completion of the questionnaire, the educational strategy was applied, consisting of a motivational talk aimed at pregnant women. Following the exposition, the same questionnaire is applied, with the purpose of evaluating the knowledge acquired. RESULTS: The results of the research showed that the knowledge in oral health of the pregnant women before the educational strategy was of 52.9% regular, 35.3% bad and finally 11.8% good. The results obtained after applying the educational strategy, the results were as follows: 55.9% good, 31.4% regular and finally 12.7% bad. CONCLUSIONS: The research determined that the application of the educational strategy in pregnant women generated good knowledge, there was a greater influx of pregnant women from the rural sector, the most frequent age range was 21 to 30 years and the prevailing level of education was primary. Finally showed that the education level of pregnant women determines they have more or less knowledge about the topic.
