| dc.description | OBJETIVO: Este estudio estuvo orientado a determinar el Índice de Higiene Oral Simplificado de los escolares de 6 años de la Parroquia de San Sebastián de la ciudad de Cuenca en el año 2016, estudiándose una muestra aleatoria de 197 alumnos de un total de población de 402, pertenecientes a 11 Establecimientos Educativos. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: El nivel metodológico de este estudio fue retrospectivo y descriptivo, de tipo observacional y documental. Se estudió una muestra de 197 escolares, de ambos sexos pertenecientes a la parroquia de San Sebastián de la ciudad de Cuenca, a los cuales, se les aplicó el Índice de Higiene Oral Simplificado de Greene y Vermillón. La recolección de datos se obtuvo a través del análisis de las fichas epidemiológicas que reposan en los archivos del Departamento de Investigación de la ucacue y posteriormente, a los datos reunidos se les aplicó la prueba del Chi-cuadrado. RESULTADOS: El promedio general del Índice de Higiene Oral Simplificado fue de 1.0, del cual, el 12% de los niños presentaron una excelente higiene, mientras que el 61% presentaron una buena higiene y por último, el 27% presentaron una higiene regular. No se encontró una relación estadísticamente significativa (p = 0.780470069) entre los niveles de índice de higiene oral y el sexo. CONCLUSIÓN: los datos obtenidos en este estudio mostraron que el Índice de Higiene Oral Simplificado de los escolares de 6 años que pertenecen a las Instituciones Educativas de la parroquia de San Sebastián de la ciudad de Cuenca, fue bueno. | es_ES |
| dc.description.resumen | OBJECTIVE: This study was orientated to determine the Index of Oral Hygiene Simplified of the 6 - year - old students of the Parish of San Sebastián of the city of Cuenca in the year 2016, there being studied a random sample of 197 pupils of a total population of 402 , belonging to 11 Educational Establishments. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The methodological level of this study was retrospective and descriptive, of type observational and documentary. There was studied a sample of 197 students of both sexes belonging to the parish of San Sebastián in the city of Cuenca to wich, there was appliedto them the Index of Oral Hygiene Simplified of Greene and Vermilion. The compilation of informaton was obtained across the analysis of the epidemiological cards that rest in the files of the Department of Investigation of the ucacue and later, to the assembled information the test of the Chi-square was applied to them. RESULTS: The overall average Simplified Oral Hygiene Index was 1.0, of which 12% of children had excellent hygiene, while 61% had good hygiene and,finally, 27%had a regular hygiene. No statistically significant relationship (p = 0.780470069) between levels of oral hygiene index and sex. CONCLUSION: The information obtained in this study showed that the Index of Oral Hygiene Simplified of the 6 year old students, who belong to the Educational Institutions of the parish of San Sebastián in the city of Cuenca was good. | es_ES |
