dc.descriptionIntroducción: El cáncer de cuello uterino es una de las principales causas de muerte en mujeres en todo el mundo. La infección por el virus del papiloma humano (VPH) es la principal causa de este tipo de cáncer. La vacunación contra el VPH es una estrategia efectiva para prevenir la infección y, por lo tanto, el cáncer de cuello uterino. Metodología: Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica de estudios y publicaciones científicas sobre la vacunación contra el VPH y su impacto en la prevención del cáncer de cuello uterino. Se analizaron los diferentes tipos de vacunas disponibles, su eficacia y seguridad, así como los obstáculos para su implementación en la población. Resultados: La vacunación contra el VPH es altamente efectiva para prevenir la infección y el desarrollo de lesiones precancerosas y cáncer de cuello uterino. Existen diferentes tipos de vacunas disponibles, todas ellas seguras y bien toleradas. Sin embargo, la implementación de programas de vacunación en la población enfrenta diversos obstáculos, como la falta de información y la resistencia a la vacunación. Conclusión: La vacunación contra el VPH es una estrategia efectiva para prevenir el cáncer de cuello uterino y debería ser promovida y accesible para toda la población. Es necesario abordar los obstáculos para su implementación y mejorar la información y educación sobre la importancia de la vacunación.es_ES
dc.description.abstractIntroduction: Cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of death in women worldwide. Infection with the human papillomavirus (HPV) is the main cause of this type of cancer. Vaccination against HPV is an effective strategy to prevent infection and, therefore, cervical cancer. Methodology: A bibliographic review of studies and scientific publications on HPV vaccination and its impact on the prevention of cervical cancer was carried out. The different types of vaccines available, their efficacy and safety, as well as the obstacles to their implementation in the population were analyzed. Results: HPV vaccination is highly effective in preventing infection and the development of precancerous lesions and cervical cancer. There are different types of vaccines available, all of them safe and well-tolerated. However, the implementation of vaccination programs in the population faces various obstacles, such as lack of information and vaccine hesitancy. Conclusion: HPV vaccination is an effective strategy to prevent cervical cancer and should be promoted and accessible to the entire population. It is necessary to address the obstacles to its implementation and improve information and education about the importance of vaccination.es_ES
