Item type: Ítem , Access status: Acceso Abierto , Diseño de espacios inmersivos para descanso en el Museo Pumapungo(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2026) Torres Padilla, Joselyn LissethThis research addresses the issue of the lack of adequate resting spaces at the Pumapungo Museum, which currently do not meet optimal criteria for ergonomics, environmental comfort, or visitor interaction strategies. This situation limits the user experience along the museographic tour and reduces the potential of the museum as a space for staying and learning. The study is conducted through applied research, utilizing a mixed-methods approach with a descriptive-propositive scope, formally grounded in the design project method. A spatial, lighting, thermal, acoustic, and aesthetic diagnosis of the selected areas was conducted using direct observation techniques, technical recording sheets, and environmental measurements. This allowed for the identification of deficiencies related to the absence of ergonomic furniture, poor technological integration, and a lack of visual identity linked to the museum’s cultural narrative. As a result, an interior design proposal is presented based on the implementation of interactive resting spaces that integrate anthropometrically supported furniture, immersive projection systems, ambient lighting, and multisensory resources. The proposal aims to enhance the visitor experience, strengthen their connection with cultural heritage, and position the Pumapungo Museum as a benchmark in museographic innovation through immersive interior design and its technical and economic feasibility.
