- ÍtemSolo MetadatosEducación inclusiva, permanencia y culminación de alumnos con discapacidad en las instituciones de educación superior.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Vicuña Ávila, José Luis; Fajardo Romero, Carlos Julio; 0107524233This research focuses on comprehensively evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of Ecuadorian regulations regarding inclusive education for individuals with disabilities in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) since the enactment of the 2008 Constitution to the present day and whether it effectively guarantees the admission, permanence, and completion of studies for students with disabilities in higher education. The hypothesis is that, despite regulations and public policies promoting the right to inclusive education, various regulatory and institutional factors hinder the practical realization of this right. The analysis aims to explore the constitutional and infra-constitutional provisions that guarantee the right to education for students with disabilities in higher education, as well as to examine the coherence and relevance of these norms with the particular needs of these students. It is concluded that, despite regulatory and political advances, discrimination and violation of the rights to education of individuals with disabilities are evident and have economic, labor, and social participation repercussions. In this sense, the research proposes specific recommendations to strengthen the implementation of regulations related to inclusive education in HEIs.
