Method: A bibliographic review was made based on information from 50 studies published in the following scientific databases: Scopus, Dialnet, PubMed, Latindex, Medline, and SciELO between the years 2016 - 2020, in the languages Spanish, English, and Portuguese. Results: The most relevant sociodemographic characteristics that influence the quality of working life of the nursing professional were being female, having a partner, children, 4 and advanced age; additionally, factors directly related to the working environment were identified, such as institutional support since they have the necessary instruments and administrative support to be able to perform their work efficiently. In terms of personal development, the results indicate that they feel committed to their work because they can grow personally and professionally; and the administration of free time because, since the staff is mostly female, they must fulfill extra roles outside the workplace; the Latin American country that showed the best quality of work-life was Brazil. Several validated instruments help evaluate the quality of work-life, such as the WHOQOL-Bref, CVT-GOHISALO, among others. Conclusions: In Latin America, the quality of working life is satisfactory, which contributes to providing a better service to the user
