Ítem Acceso Abierto Ansiedad y depresión en estudiantes universitarios migrantes de la ciudad de Cuenca.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Bravo Oña, Pablo; Chogllo Llerena , Evelyn; León Prieto, María; 1400896526; 0302626734Introduction: Human mobilization processes known as migration cause destabilization in the students’ mental health. Objectives: a) To determine the incidence of anxiety in migrant university students in the city of Cuenca. b) To identify the prevalence of depression in migrant university students in the city of Cuenca. c) To establish the relationship between anxiety and depression with the sociodemographic variables of migrant university students. Methodology: A descriptive-correlational, non-experimental, and cross-sectional quantitative design was used. The sample taken was conventional with non-probabilistic exploratory sampling, comprising a total of 200 students. The Goldberg Anxiety and Depression Scale (GADS) and a sociodemographic data sheet were used to identify the variables. Results: The relationship between anxiety and depression as a result of academic migration and sociodemographic variables (gender, living arrangements, and frequency of return) could not be established in this study, as the statistical value had to be p≥0.5. Conclusion: The presence of anxiety and/or depression in the sample constitutes a visible problem that higher education and health institutions must address.
