Ítem Acceso Abierto Factores de riesgo asociados a la enfermedad de chagas en america latina(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Chocho Gutierrez , Jhoselyne Susana; Espinoza Díaz , Cristóbal Ignacio; 1105142630This pre-project focuses on a literature review of the factors associated with Chagas disease in Latin America. The spread of this parasitic disease is influenced by various elements, including exposure to triatomines, socioeconomic factors, migration, congenital and transfusional transmission, changes in the environment, and urbanization. A complex interaction between these factors has been identified through the search and analysis of studies and related literature from the last five years, contributing to the disease's dissemination. The results highlight the need to address the disease comprehensively and multidisciplinarily, considering medical, social, and environmental aspects. The importance of early detection interventions in pregnant women, blood bank testing, and preventive measures in vulnerable populations is emphasized. This pre-project also suggests future research areas, including analyzing housing and sanitation policies and evaluating vector control strategies in urban environments. Ultimately, this work is expected to contribute to developing effective public health approaches to reduce the burden of Chagas disease in Latin America.
