Una revisión sistemática(Universidad Católica de Cuenca, 2022-10-18) Calle Calle, Ligia Elena; Peralta Cardenas, Maria Fernanda; 030290490-9ABSTRACT Educational communication strategies are innovative education method that helps to transmit information. Applying these strategies to indigenous peoples is necessary to break down barriers to health education identified by language or geographic location. That is why the available scientific evidence on educational communication strategies’ impact on indigenous peoples belonging to the highland region was systematized to demonstrate the importance of these strategies. The systematic review was based on the complete interpretation of scientific articles in Spanish and English and 2018 – 2022 publications. The prism method was also used for analyzing the information where six categories were created. As a result, knowledge of government policies promoting the right to health education for indigenous peoples was obtained, including intercultural bilingual education, the rescue of cultural traditions and the use of audiovisual strategies. It was also found that radio broadcasting, telecommunication and educational institutions were the primary sources of information and connection between health personnel and indigenous peoples. In conclusion, educational communication is important for the indigenous peoples´ development; it is necessary to take advantage of public policies and media that favor education. Thus, the health personnel will be prepared to provide quality educational communication to indigenous peoples. Keywords: educational communication strategies, indigenous peoples, education, health.
