Ítem Acceso Abierto Propuesta de una infraestructura de datos espaciales para la Universidad Católica de Cuenca(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Carmona Chica, Bryam Sebastian; Trujillo Ordoñez, Erika Fernanda; Cobos, Sandra; 0104948203; 1105657512This project proposes the creation of a Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) at the Catholic University of Cuenca to improve the management, access, and use of Geographic Information (GI) in teaching, research, and linkage with society. A qualitative and technological methodological approach is used, supported by an exhaustive literature review, to establish a solid legal basis that functions as a central axis for the distribution and access to geodata. The development of the geoportal, as a vital tool for access, visualization, and analysis of spatial data, was conducted through the application of the SCRUM methodology, selected for its ability to facilitate rapid adaptation to changes and ensure efficient delivery of the application. This infrastructure aims to promote collaboration, accessibility, and updating of geoinformation to reflect current territorial needs and guidelines for effective integration of the University in global geospatial information management efforts. Updating of legal regulations, implementing training programs for users and administrators, and periodic evaluations of the UCACUE Project Catalog are essential to maintaining the relevance and effectiveness of the SDI. This approach will ensure efficient GI management and strengthen the necessary infrastructure for scientific and technological advancement. The adoption of international standards and policies for data interoperability and accessibility and the creation of geospatial web services are fundamental to fostering an environment of innovation and collaboration within the University, establishing an important precedent in managing and disseminating geographic information in academia.
