Ítem Acceso Abierto Las plataformas digitales en el sector de las pequeñas y medianas empresas en el cantón Azogues(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2022) Camacho Calero, Tomás Eleazar; Ramírez Valarezo, Carlos Fabián; 0302290960; ., .In the context of the global market, digital platforms are seen as a alternative to shorten the technological gap between companies of different size and improve its competitiveness. The digitization of business processes and the Internet access for a greater number of people generates an environment of uncertainty in which the following question arises: Did digital platforms influence the sustainability of SMEs in the Azogues canton? According to this question the present article conducive to provide an image of the situation faced by SMEs in the canton, based on investigative work with an exploratory methodological approach and descriptive. Through the analysis of the state of the art and the application of surveys, it was evaluated the following aspects: use of the internet, social networks, investment in ICTs and tools of electronic commerce. Empirical evidence orroborates the influence of platforms in the context of study, especially those aimed at generating spaces for communication between the client and the company. It is concluded that the network platforms social networks are preferred by companies to explore the benefits of digitalization and that the lack of knowledge in echnological issues becomes a barrier to entry to digital transformation.
