In this educational process, it is essential that children learn to think before acting, as it is a key aspect for them to differentiate feelings and control emotions such as aggression and anger, providing an effective environment for their social relationships. This situation should begin at an early age, taking as the first teaching/learning scenario, children socio-family environment, and then complementing it in educational institutions. Objective: To determine the incidence of emotional intelligence in the interpersonal relationships of children in early childhood education. Methodology: study developed under an explanatory level, based on the deductive and analytical method, supported by different theoretical foundations obtained from different sources of information duly referred, which provided key information to answer the questions stated after a thorough analysis. Results: the development of emotional intelligence is fundamental for children at the early childhood level to be able to dominate or self-control their emotions or feelings. Conclusions: emotional intelligence is of utmost importance for the integral formation of infants, because it affects the improvement of personal intuition, fosters confidence and facilitates the acquisition of the skills, abilities and aptitudes necessary for their development. In addition, its deficient development makes it difficult for infants to have control of their emotions, preventing them from establishing positive and enriching relationships that contribute to their integral development. Keywords: teaching-learning, deductive-analytical method, early childhood, emotional intelligence, personal relationships.
