Ítem Acceso Abierto Violencia de género a nivel del Ecuador: Una revisión sistemática(Universidad Católica de Cuenca, 2023) Aguaiza Pichasaca, Johanna Estefania; Peralta Cárdenas, María Fernanda; 010550869-1Gender-based violence in Ecuador has been very marked in recent years, becoming a problem in public and private health care, due to the growing rate increase. This became evident during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the Ecuadorian government, like many other countries, applied the quarantine as a means of containment, causing the victims to spend all the time with their aggressors. This confinement generated a challenge to the country in creating more public policies to guarantee the right of the different victims of violence. Objective: To analyze the compiled scientific information about gender-based violence in Ecuador. Methodology: The study was carried out with a qualitative approach, using a descriptive range thanks to the exhaustive analysis and interpretation of the information obtained through applying the PRISMA method; variables and criteria for inclusion and exclusion were used. Results: A total of 50 articles were found in the bibliographic search, which generated categories of analysis, including risk factors, types of gender-based violence, confinement, violence in the rural sector, support for victims, and Ecuadorian government action against gender-based violence. Conclusion: The family customs, the belief that the man considers himself the woman’s owner and that love bears all, typifies the existence and increase of gender-based violence in Ecuador. Keywords: violence, gender, discrimination, woman.
