Ítem Acceso Abierto Salud mental asociado a covid-19 en los pueblos indígenas(Universidad Católica de Cuenca, 2022-07-01) Pomaquiza Carpio, Maria Carolina; Ochoa Maldonado, Katty; 010469830-3Introduction: Mental health refers to the emotional, psychological, and social well-being of a person, this has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, which forced governments around the world to establish quarantine, isolation, and social distancing, resulting in the alteration of the mind, especially in indigenous populations, who are accustomed to freedom rather than isolation. Objective: To gather scientific information about mental health associated with Covid-19 in the indigenous people, guided by the formation of scientific knowledge. Methodology: A systematic review of the literature was carried out using the PRISMA method with the support of a database, the inclusion and exclusion criteria were taken into consideration in articles published in both Spanish and English within the last five years. Results: The categories of analysis were generated from those studies that discuss the alteration of mental health in the indigenous population, its care, and the used strategies. Conclusion: During the pandemic, the lack of good management of mental health in the indigenous population has caused great damage, especially in the abandoned villages. Therefore, it has caused states of anxiety, depression, and confusion, although the dynamism of the community leaders has led to the preservation of mental health through the implementation of playful and entertaining activities in every home.
