Una revisión Sistemática.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca, 2022-07-01) Diaz Usho, Isabel Jesenea; Espadero, Rosa Gabriela; 060571604-2Most of the people who have suffered from Covid-19, state that they have shown clinic symptoms both subjectively and objectively. Among the most important sequels is the development of pulmonary fibrosis in which the lung tissue is damaged and thus, the respiratory function deteriorates, it shows itself with dyspnea, fatigue, among other signs. Objective: To identify the most frequent post-Covid-19 respiratory sequels as well as their characteristic signs and symptoms and their impact on the quality of life of the people who have been affected by it. Methodology. A review of the literature was carried out using databases such as PubMed, Scopus, Dialnet, Lilacs, and Google Scholar, od those which were published within the last 3 years (from 2019 to 2021). Results: Seventy-eight articles were reviewed considering the inclusion and exclusion criteria, which resulted in 20 articles to be reviewed, the results were analyzed based on three different categories: Respiratory sequelae, signs and symptoms, and quality of life. Conclusions: Patients who have suffered from the post-Covid-19 infection and were admitted into the intensive care unit showed a great deterioration of the lung function as a sequel. This was identified as post-covid-19 Syndrome, specifically known as pulmonary fibrosis, which is characterized by symptoms that include fatigue, dyspnea, and cough. Mainly, the same is accompanied by loss of muscle strength, decreased exercise capacity, decreased ability to perform activities daily, therefore, it has resulted in alterations in the patient's quality of life. - ÍtemAcceso AbiertoCuidados paliativos en pacientes con secuelas post covid-19: Una revisión sistemática(Universidad Católica de Cuenca, 2023) Loja Chicaiza, Ana Marlene; Angamarca Guamán, Elsa Elizabeth; Espadero, Rosa Gabriela; 030297232-8; 030265094-0Palliative care refers to the attention offered to patients who suffer from chronic illnesses with an adverse prognosis, in this case, persons post-COVID-19 sequelae, to improve their quality of life. This research aims to systematize and analyze the scientific evidence based on diverse bibliographic sources that have been selected following various inclusion and exclusion criteria, for which the PRISMA 2020 methodology was used. The principal databases utilized for the search were: PubMed, Elsevier, SciELO, Redalyc, Mediagraphyc, and Scopus. - ÍtemAcceso AbiertoLa obesidad como factor de riesgo en la severidad del covid 19: Una revisión sistemática.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca, 2022) Lema Guaman, Jenny Susana; Espadero, Rosa Gabriela; 175012800-9Obesity and COVID-19 are two serious health problems that affect the population worldwide. This research aims to carry out a bibliographic analysis from scientific sources on obesity as a risk factor in the COVID-19 severity. A systematic literature review was conducted using descriptive-narrative research. A bibliographic search was also included using filters such as publications from 2018- 2022 in Spanish and English, keywords and DeCS from pages such as Scopus, SciELO, Dialnet, PubMed, and Web of Science. The following sources, Google Scholar, Virtual Health Library, and Virtual Library UCACUE, were also used. After analyzing the 14 articles, it was found that obesity is a main risk factor in the COVID-19 severity because obese patients are more likely to be hospitalized. They need to be admitted to intensive care units (ICU), require invasive mechanical ventilation therapy (IMV), have a higher risk of developing severe lung disease, greater immune system involvement and a high mortality rate. Therefore, it was proved that obesity is a predominant risk factor in the COVID-19 severity. Keywords: obesity, risk, factor, severity, covid-19.
