Gualaquiza: una mirada etnográfica a la cultura Shuar, caso de estudio Chumpias

This investigation is developed in the Shuar community of Chumpias, located in the province of Morona Santiago. This ethnic group preserves its identity through oral knowledge transmission, hunting, food recollection, and a spiritual relationship with nature. These activities are not limited to traditional boundaries, as they represent acts of resistance and cultural reaffirmation in the face of a global environment that tends to standardize lifestyles. Therefore, this project aims to capture these expressions through a documentary, in order to portray the daily life of the community, as well as to convey the symbolic and spiritual meaning that they attribute to their natural environment. This audiovisual production is the first communicative and documentary approach to the Shuar community of Chumpias. Through the elaboration of this ethnographic documentary, it aims to rescue and make visible the identity, cultural, and spiritual elements of this Indigenous community, whose history has remained on the margins of research, academic studies, and the media.
