Innovaciones en sistemas constructivos en tierra: exploración de técnicas y su aplicabilidad en la arquitectura contemporánea

This research develops a preliminary architectural design within the Andean region of Ecuador, focusing on the Azuay province, specifically the Oña canton. It validates the application of an optimized earth-based construction system, combining traditional techniques with contemporary improvements to guarantee structural and thermal efficiency and sustainability. Based on a comparative analysis of earth construction systems and applicable regulations, a hybrid model is designed employing walls made of CSEB (Compressed Stabilized Earth Blocks), a cyclopean concrete foundation, an andesite stone plinth, and a ventilated roof made of wood and industrial tile, optimizing the thermal protection and durability of the structure. Furthermore, a rainwater harvesting and reuse system is integrated using gutters and rain chains, promoting the project's sustainability. The proposal seeks to demonstrate the viability of using earth in contemporary architecture, promoting flexible and resilient solutions that adapt to different contexts without compromising environmental balance, thus contributing to the consolidation of a sustainable and replicable construction model.
