Ítem Acceso Abierto Eficacia de la quimioterapia intraperitoneal hipertérmica en cáncer de ovario: revisión sistemática(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Minchala Sucuzhañay, Flor Dalila; Cárdenas Heredia, Freddy Rosendo; 0302569363Context: In ovarian cancer, cytoreductive surgery is the treatment of choice, followed by adjuvant chemotherapy; where, hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy controls residual disease, with the combination of physical (thermal) and chemical (chemotherapeutic) methods prior to the formation of adhesions. Objective: To determine the efficacy of hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy in ovarian cancer in adult women. Methodology: Systematic review of primary studies published in PubMed, Web of Science and Scopus from 2013 to 2023, in Spanish and English. Results: A total of 133,393 articles were obtained, 108 were selected after the first reading, later considering the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 6 studies were used for the present review. The categories hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy, Cytoreductive Surgery, Survival, Endothelial Ovarian Cancer are described. Conclusion: Research results support the efficacy of HIPEC as a promising therapeutic approach for ovarian cancer treatment, demonstranting an overall survival of 35 months and progression – free survival of 15.6 monthsÍtem Acceso Abierto Enfermedad trofoblástica gestacional asociada a enfermedades tiroideas en mujeres en edad fértil(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Rubio Buestán, Samira Lisolette; Cárdenas Heredia, Freddy Rosendo; 0107559528Introduction: gestational trophoblastic disease is considered an unusual disease that produces complications in pregnancy. It is characterized by a group of malignant and benign pathologies that occur due to changes in the usual proliferation of the trophoblast. Less frequently, gestational trophoblastic disease is associated with thyroid diseases, only in 25 to 64% of cases, which can progress to thyrotoxicosis if they are not treated early and timely. As it is a pathology little studied in Ecuador, there is not enough information to explain in detail the conduct to be followed for the diagnosis and relevant and timely treatment. Objective: this study aimed to explain the association between gestational trophoblastic disease and thyroid diseases in women in the fertile period. Methodology: a literature review of scientific articles from the last five years was conducted by consulting databases such as Scopus, PubMed, Redalyc, SciELO, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. To do the research, articles were included without language restriction, and the DeCs keywords: molar pregnancy, thyroid diseases, trophoblastic disease, gestational, hydatidiform mole, and thyrotropin and MeSH ones: gestational trophoblastic disease, hydatidiform mole, molar pregnancy, thyroid diseases, and thyrotropin were used; the Boolean operators “And,” “Or,” and “Not” were also employed. Expected results: this literature review found the relationship between gestational trophoblastic disease and different thyroid diseases in women of childbearing age
