Ítem Acceso Abierto Eficacia de coloides frente a cristaloides para expansión de plasma tras paracentesis de gran volumen en pacientes con ascitis(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Bermeo Cabrera, Karen Lizbeth; Aldás Erazo, Manuel Rafael; 0105682686Introduction: ascites is the result of various pathologies, being the most frequent entity within the complications of cirrhosis. The management of ascites will depend on its classification; to treat grade 3 ascites, a large-volume of paracentesis is recommended. The benefits obtained after performing it need rapid control of ascites. Plasma expansion is required to avoid circulatory dysfunction after paracentesis, for which crystalloids or colloids are proposed. Objective: to evaluate the efficacy of colloids versus crystalloids for volume expansion after large-volume paracentesis in patients with ascites. Methodology: this is a narrative literature review. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were included. The databases used were PubMed, Scopus, Cochrane, Web Of Science, and Taylor & Francis. Results: Eleven articles that support the use of plasma expanders were obtained. It was evidenced that albumin is the expander with the most benefits versus risks, very contrary to the use of other expanders, which, in turn, induced more complications. Likewise, the clinical trials analyzed indicated that patients who were administered post-paracentesis albumin did not develop post-paracentesis circulatory dysfunction syndrome. Conclusion: albumin is the best plasma expander for ascites after a large volume paracentesis compared to another type of plasma expander.Ítem Embargo Hallazgos en pacientes con VIH/SIDA mediante endoscopía digestiva alta: revisión sistemática(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Blondet Barros, Jheremy Geovanny; Ortiz Velez, Mateo Sebastian; Aldás Erazo, Manuel Rafael; 0105253272; 0107338121Ítem Acceso Abierto Terapia cognitiva conductual en el síndrome de intestino irritable(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Constantine Rodas, Paula Bernarda; Aldás Erazo, Manuel Rafael; 0150662872Irritable bowel syndrome is considered a chronic functional gastrointestinal disorder characterized by intense abdominal pain and changes in stool frequency and shape due to disruption of the gut-brain communication function caused by emotional and cognitive factors. The pathology leads to motility abnormalities and visceral hypersensitivity, which is, therefore, compromising the patient's quality of life. For resolution, there is cognitive-behavioral therapy that reduces symptoms. However, it should be necessary to specify in which aspects the improvement is produced in the sick patient since there are not enough studies. The research was conducted as a literature review, in which information was collected from bibliographic databases, such as Web of Science, PubMed, Elsevier, and Scopus, in articles published in English and Spanish within the last five years. In conclusion, spastic colon disease encompasses mental disorders that influence the natural evolution and complications of the disease. Therefore, cognitive-behavioral therapy would be effective since it teaches emotion-processing skills.
