In this article, we systematically review the empirical research on evidence-based therapies that have shown efficacy in the treatment of binge eating disorder. Objective: To investigate evidence-based psychotherapies and their efficacy as an approach to binge eating disorder. Methods: An exhaustive search of scientific articles was carried out in Scopus, Pubmed, Web of Science and PsycInfo in English and Spanish, between the years 2010 and 2022; using the PRISMA methodology according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: 13 empirical articles focused on psychotherapeutic interventions that have shown improvements in the clinical treatment of ED, specifically in ED, were selected. Conclusion: Evidence-based therapies that have demonstrated efficacy are based on four therapeutic models we would obtain; a) Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), including Acceptance-Based Behavioral Therapy; b) Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy (DBT) including Psychodynamic Therapy; c) the Full Attention Approach (mindfulness); d) Therapies with support in Neuroimaging. Finally, it is suggested to open new sublines of research environment comparing the efficacy of different empirical protocols based on evidence, being able to highlight the use of therapeutic strategies such as meditation, music therapy and art therapy.es_ES
