Responsabilidad social empresarial en el sector automotriz de la ciudad de Cañar

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is crucial to businesses’ success and sustainability in today’s world because it encompasses the social, environmental, and economic aspects of both society and the environment. From such a perspective, this study aimed at determining the level of CRS in the automotive sector. In order to develop the study, a mixed-method research was proposed, which followed a descriptive cross-sectional field design. The ERSOS survey was applied by means of a questionnaire, which evaluated the CRS, Yapes validated the questionnaire in 2016. It includes the economic, social, and environmental dimensions of CSR, applied to the whole population, that is, thirty workers responsible for these businesses. Therefore, results show that there are deficiencies in the financial and environmental aspects because business managers lack knowledge about such topics. In conclusion, the automotive sector, in the context of this study, needs to considerably improve its practices in order to be acknowledged as socially responsible.
