Ítem Acceso Abierto Microabrasión del esmalte dental en pacientes odontopedriátricos(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2021) Gualán Abrigo, Paulina Beatriz; Microabrasión del esmalte dental en pacientes odontopedriátricos, Viviana Daniela; 1950052595; ., .Objective: The objective of this research is to corroborate the effectiveness of microabrasion in the depigmentation of dental stains in pediatric dentistry patients with permanent dentition. Materials and methods: The methodology applied was the bibliographic compilation of the last 5 years under the hypothesis of microabrasion in dental stains, this methodology led to the selection of several clinical cases explicitly in permanent teeth. Results: A total of 13 clinical cases classified in series of clinical and individual cases were included, demonstrating that dental microabrasion is efficient depending on the stain and the acid and abrasive products or infiltrative resin used; the lightest pigmentations were the brownish-yellow stains, hypomineralization, and hypo calcification ending with post orthodontic stains, the abrasive pastes OPALUSTRE, 18% hydrochloric acid, and 37% orthophosphoric acid plus pumice stone worked efficiently and immediately in the eradication of the dental stains, On the other hand, the most difficult pigmentations to eliminate were hypoplasias, incipient caries and severe fluorosis due to the depth of the stain in the enamel, being resin the Icon infiltrative, ideal to harmonize the color of the tooth and that the pigmentations are imperceptible to the human eye. Conclusion: Microabrasion is a simple procedure that works effectively eradicating superficial pigmentations as long as the etiology of the tooth discoloration is correctly diagnosed. In cases of deep stains, a resinous infiltrative can be applied to mask the stains and obtain satisfactory results for the patient.
