Ítem Acceso Abierto Beneficios de las actividades acuáticas en escolares: revisión bibliográfica(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Erreyes Guaman, Jonathan Vinicio; Bravo Navarro, Wilson Hernando; 0302285093This study addresses the issue of the lack of aquatic activities among schoolchildren, considering their impact on their holistic development since these activities fight against sedentary lifestyles, improve physical health, and promote social and emotional skills in school-aged children. This research aims to analyze, through a literature review, the physical, psychological, and social benefits of these activities. The methodology was qualitative and descriptive, based on a review of scientific literature published between 2018 and 2024. Relevant articles published in Spanish, English, and Portuguese were selected, excluding theses and other non-academic works. The sources included databases such as SciELO, Redalyc, and Scopus, ensuring the validity of the results. Among the most relevant findings, aquatic activities strengthened the cardiovascular system, developed fundamental motor skills such as balance and coordination, and improved children's confidence and socialization. Additionally, these activities help overcome the fear of water and provide significant psychological and emotional benefits. In conclusion, aquatic activities are an educational and recreational tool that contributes to the overall well-being of schoolchildren. Their inclusion in the educational environment can promote healthy lifestyles and enhance essential skills for their holistic development.
