This article aims to determine Ecuador's lack of regulations that violate the rights of abandoned children and adolescents. The dogmatic method analyze the current rules, doctrine, and theories substantiating children and adolescents' rights in Ecuador. Likewise, the deductive method, which comes from the general to the particular, was applied to study the existing regulations, evidencing the lack of protection for the rights of abandoned children and the need for laws that regulate this problem. In addition, through the analytical method, the rights of children and adolescents were recognized, and their violation was demonstrated in the case of child abandonment. The lack of laws that regulate, establish, protect, and indicate how to proceed in the case of abandonment of children and adolescents was evidenced; therefore, the insertion of rules is necessary to guarantee the respect of the rights of children and adolescents in abandonment.
