Ítem Acceso Abierto Propuesta para implementación de la Metodología 5S en el laboratorio Fab-Lab de la Universidad Católica de Cuenca(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Beltrán Bowen , Danny Ariel; Quinde Alvear, Angel Geovanny; 0150290195Digital fabrication laboratories (Fab Lab) are a reality that presents new opportunities to users and consumers, gaining prominence, usually in academic institutions. These labs are commonly used to design and create projects with machinery such as 3D printers, CNC routers, and laser cutters and engravers, among others. This research proposes implementing the methodology for quality management called 5S to promote productivity improvement in the Fab Lab. The methodology used was qualitative, quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental, and cross-sectional. A Likert scale survey was administered to obtain field information. The analysis revealed the laboratory's situation, which maintains a standard of application of isolated actions that should be connected to the 5S methodology. In the first S (Seiri), some actions meet 43.34% of compliance; in the second S (Seiton), some actions meet 42.57% of compliance; likewise, the third S (Seiso) has actions that meet 29.13% of compliance; in the fourth S (Seiketsu) and fifth S (Shitsuke), there are still no concrete actions. Thus, improvement actions should be implemented in each of the 5S methodology phases to group its processes. Finally, some conclusions and recommendations obtained from this project are established.
