Objective: To determine the impact of motherhood on the academic performance of the students of the Catholic University of Cuenca, Azogues, during the period May - October 2019. Methodology: Quantitative, descriptive and correlational research with 1768 students of the Catholic University of Cuenca. Azogues Through probabilistic sampling, stratified by careers, 316 students were worked, of which 158 were mothers and 158 students without this role. A questionnaire was designed and validated by experts. That met the ethical standards for research in human beings. Where all the students who wanted to participate in the study were included and those who did not sign the informed consent were excluded. Statistical analysis was performed in SPSS v.23 software; quantitative variables were presented in averages and standard deviation; qualitative variables were expressed in frequencies and percentages; The impact of motherhood on academic performance was analyzed with Spearman's correlation. Results: The profile of the mother student corresponds to an average age of 23.7 ± 3.17, single marital status (40.5%), mixed race (95.6%), urban resident (67.7%), works (13, 3%), depends financially on their parents (46.2%), has 1 child (86.7%), receives support for the care of their child (69%), attends nursing (56.3%), studies 3-4 hours a day, considers that motherhood does not influence the time to graduate, with very good academic performance (63.3%). Therefore, there is no impact of motherhood on academic performance.
