Ítem Acceso Abierto Conductas sexuales de riesgo y factores asociados en estudiantes universitarios en Azogues - Ecuador, 2020(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Cárdenas Coronel, Mariela Cristina; Carrión Ordóñez, Julia Irma; 0302632971; ., .INTRODUCTION: Students often present some risky sexual risk behaviors throughout their lives, resulting in consequences that affect their personal, student, and social life. OBJECTIVE: To identify sexual risk behaviors and associated factors in university students in Azogues - Ecuador, 2020. METHODOLOGY: It was a descriptive, cross-sectional, census-based, and quantitative research. Information was obtained from the database generated by a survey applied to university students who met the inclusion criteria; its statistical analysis was by prevalence ratio, using the binomial distribution, in the SPSS V23 software. RESULTS: It was shown that 53.5% of the participants presented some sexual risk behavior, of which 58.9% were women, and 90.7% reported being single. The variables that demonstrated significance were: other sexual orientations 3.2 times more (PR 3.22 CI 95% 1.43-7.23), under 16 years of age 82% (PR 1.82 CI 95% 1.04-3.18), use of contraceptive methods other than condoms 56% (PR 1.56 CI 95% 1.02-2. 36), sexually transmitted diseases 99% (PR 1.99 CI 95% 1.81-2.22), alcohol 2.1 times more (PR 2.11 CI 95% 1.37-3.27), drugs 61% (PR 1.61 CI 95% 1.02-2.53). In contrast, the number of sexual partners, religion, or academic performance did not influence the presentation of any sexual risk behavior. CONCLUSION: The age of initiation of sexual relation, use of contraceptive methods, sexually transmitted diseases, and alcohol and drug use were identified as sexual risk behaviors among university students.Ítem Acceso Abierto Estado nutricional y hábitos alimentarios en estudiantes de medicina, durante la pandemia en Azogues - Ecuador, 2021(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Campoverde Avila, Gerardo Ismael; Izquierdo Coronel, Diana Carolina; 0104814413; ., .A nivel mundial la malnutrición es un problema debido al consumo de alimentos poco saludables y malos hábitos en los estilos de vida como consumo de grasas, bebidas gaseosas, alcohol y tabaco, por lo que la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) busca mejorar la calidad de vida y prevenir las enfermedades no transmisibles. Este trabajo de titulación se relaciona con el estado nutricional de los estudiantes universitarios de la carrera de medicina, en el cual se busca obtener cuál es su situación nutricional y sus hábitos alimentarios, con la finalidad de poder establecer una solución y determinar cuál es la relación entre un mal estado nutricional y el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes universitarios de la carrera de medicina durante la pandemia. Objetivo: Determinar el estado nutricional y hábitos alimentarios en estudiantes de medicina, durante la pandemia en Azogues – Ecuador, 2021. Metodología: Es un estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo, transversal de base censal, mediante la aplicación de encuestas realizadas por los docentes del proyecto denominado “FACTORES ASOCIADOS AL RENDIMIENTO ACADEMICO EN ESTUDIANTES UNIVERSITARIOS EN TIEMPOS DE COVID 2019”, misma que se aplicó a los estudiantes de la Universidad Católica de Cuenca Sede Azogues en el año 2020. El análisis se realizará con el programa SPSS V20, para la descripción univariada y bivariada. Resultados: en este estudio participaron 623 estudiantes, quienes 243 presentaron mal nutrición de los cuales 32 con un bajo rendimiento académico, con predominio de 403 mujeres en relación al sexo masculino.Ítem Acceso Abierto Influencia de la disfunción familiar en el rendimiento académico en estudiantes universitarios, Azogues 2020(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Alvarez Cayamcela, Luis Genaro; Guerra Ortega, Diana Laura; 0350187555; ., .Background: Family dysfunction is one of the main factors that influence the academic performance of university students, which can have repercussions in their careers both in the short and long term, generating different problems at the academic level. Objective: To determine the influence of family dysfunction on the academic performance of university students, Azogues 2020. Materials and methods: This research was conducted in a non-experimental, cross-sectional, and quantitative study, with a census method and a sample of 623 university students; the database analysis was performed through the SPSS V20 program. Results: It was found that 10.1% of students had poor performance, and most were female. Most of them had a nuclear family type, 42.9% had family dysfunction, and 14.3% of the participants had severe family dysfunction. The significant variables were age, since those older than 20 years had a higher risk in 90% (PR 1.9; 95%CI 1.2-3.1), women 60% (PR 1.6; 95%CI 1.0-2.6) and family dysfunction 40% (PR 0.4; 95%CI 0.26-0.66). On the other side, the type of family and the current economic situation had no influence. Conclusions: Students with family dysfunction were at greater risk of having low academic performance, as were students over 20 years of age and women.
