Ítem Acceso Abierto Consecuencias psicológicas y modelos de intervención psicoterapéutica en niños niñas y adolescentes víctimas de abuso sexual en Latinoamérica(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Loja Sánchez, Mayra; Ortiz Calle, Jenifer; Narváez Pillco, Viviana; 0105890982; 0302701883Sexual abuse is a social problem that primarily affects the most vulnerable population —i.e., children and adolescents, the group most susceptible to deception and intimidation— with psychological consequences that can lead to mental health issues. This research aimed to investigate the prevalence of sexual abuse in Latin American children and adolescents, analyze the psychological consequences, and establish models of therapeutic intervention used in child and adolescent victims of sexual abuse. The methodology was developed following a qualitative approach, employing a descriptive literature review design using digital databases such as Dialnet and Scielo related to the psychological consequences and psychotherapeutic intervention models on the issue of sexual abuse in minors. The results showed that the prevalence rates of sexual abuse remained high between 2020 and 2021, with women being the most affected. This is a matter of concern within the health area, whose consequences generate eating disorders, sexual dysfunction, and depressive states. In addition, there are different intervention models with positive outcomes, with the cognitive-behavioral model standing out as the one with the highest percentage of scientific validity. Thus, it is concluded that therapeutic intervention plans are beneficial to support the victim in overcoming trauma; the most effective is cognitive-behavioral therapy since there is scientific evidence of its effectiveness in the short, medium, and long term.Ítem Acceso Abierto Relación entre el abuso sexual en la infancia y adolescencia y trastornos psicológicos: Una revisión bibliográfica(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Armijos Mora , Angie; Quezada Rueda , Katty; Beltràn Serrano , Gerardo; 0707002010; 1900711274Abstract Introduction: Child and adolescent sexual abuse represents a severe worldwide health problem; the impacts are often broader and more persistent, affecting mental health and promoting the development of psychological disorders, which in turn, cause impairment in the victim's vital spheres. Objective: To understand the relationship between childhood and adolescent sexual abuse (CASA) and the existence of psychological disorders in children and adolescents. Methodology: A qualitative and descriptive literature review was conducted; 12 articles from PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases published between 2019 and 2023 were examined, all meeting the selection criteria. Results: Prevalence of post- traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and anxiety were identified. Similarly, it was recognized that this type of violence was closely related to the onset and course of psychological illnesses, as well as to implications such as revictimization, family ties, disclosure of their experience, and low self-esteem, generating repercussions in psychological, sexual, social, and physical levels. Conclusion: The existence of a PTSD prevalence, depression, and anxiety was confirmed, adding to the association between being a victim of CASA and a higher likelihood of developing mental illnesses (generally seen as a predisposing factor), which influence the development and mental health of the victims.
