Ítem Acceso Abierto Intervención de enfermería en adultos con accidente cerebroascular isquémico(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Angamarca Guarango, Karen Sthefany; Baculima Morocho, María Fernanda; Quito Peralta, Jenniffer Nathaly; 0106424146; 0105820120Introduction: The World Health Organization (WHO) defines ischemic stroke as the death of brain tissue causing a deficit in the supply of oxygen and blood to the brain due to the obstruction of an artery. Objective: To carry out a literature review on nursing interventions in managing patients with ischemic stroke. Methodology: A literature review study was conducted in the following databases: Dialnet Plus, Medigraphic, ProQuest, PubMed, Redalyc, SciELO, ScienceDirect, Taylor & Francis, Web of Science, and institutional health pages. Results: Based on the analysis of 53 scientific articles, they were classified by prevalence, associated factors, complications, treatment, and nursing interventions. A higher prevalence was found in men aged 60 years. Associated factors include hypertension, dyslipidemia, smoking, and diabetes, among others. The main complications include seizures, vasospasm, epilepsy, and intraparenchymal hemorrhages. Pharmacological treatment, including Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI), is vital for early and adequate management. Finally, nursing intervention is highlighted for the care of each stage of the disease, such as the prevention and management of factors associated with ischemic strokes. Conclusion: Nursing staff plays a crucial role in patient recovery, providing education to identify factors associated with cerebrovascular disease to prevent its occurrence and improve their lifestyle.
