Ítem Acceso Abierto “Diagnóstico de movilidad de la parroquia Guapán”(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Guamán González, Gisel Graciela; Vélez Sánchez, Manuel Sebastián; Romero González, Rómulo Ricardo; 0302699939; 0302633607; ., .The world's cities are currently developing urban innovations of great importance, seeking to improve the mobility of the population; however, it is essential to determine that the decisions taken in this area will affect future settlements. According to several studies and analyses on mobility, it is possible to evaluate and diagnose the various displacements generated in a rural area. This academic research was conducted in Guapán parish in Azogues Canton. Its population growth demands progress in transportation planning, safety, and road traffic. This study compiled all the information on desire lines, vehicle volumes, road infrastructure, capacity calculations, and service levels. The results show that work (38.1%) and education (28.2%) are the main reasons for mobilization. Regarding the hourly volume of Jnaximum demand and annual average daily traffic, counts were taken at four strategic points the area. The most influential zone is the Cement Plant, with a total of 468 vehicles per hour on Monday and an AADT of 3741 cars per day, and a service level of type E. Finally, Guapán as the largest rural parish in the canton with many tourist sites, several industries, and agriculture and commerce development that generate many trips. By not having a mobility diagnosis that contributes to the current development of its people, the levels of vehicular congestion will continue to grow, together with the problems related to public transportation, :raffic lights, and signage planning.
