An experimental in vitro study was carried out, and the sample constituted a Candida albicans strain inoculated in nine mono-Petri dishes with nutrient agar. The inhibition halos were measured according to the control discs' measurements. The data were entered into a database that was later compared with the Duraffourd scale. The study showed the antifungal efficacy of calcium hydroxide against Candida albicans after 48 hours of incubation at 36 °C; the inhibitory halo originated in a range of 16 to 20 mm. The intraductal drug Ultracal showed that against Candida albicans after 48 hours of incubation at 36 °C, it had an inhibitory halo in the range of 18 to 21 mm. Finally, with the comparison of both calcium hydroxide-based drugs, it was observed that there was a significant difference in their antifungal activity. This shows that the inhibitory halos with Ultracal are greater than those formed with chemically pure calcium hydroxide.
