A descriptive correlational analysis was carried out. A survey was applied on the pedagogical factors that influence the academic performance of 171 students studying the nursing career at the Catholic University of Cuenca, Azogues. The results are the following: 68% of students from first to fourth cycle with an average collaboration rate. The age range of 19 to 20 years with 30%, 85% single civil status, 53% rural area, and 85% female. 46% of teachers do not comply with the teaching methods and techniques described in the syllabus. 47% of teachers do not encourage communication and participation, 42% do not determine prior knowledge. 49% do not motivate to develop their skills and abilities in theoretical and practical classes. 53% do not use Information and Communication Technologies. 48% of students do not use study strategies to facilitate learning. 40% of students spend 3 to 4 hours a day on self-study. In conclusion, it was shown that there is no correlation between the pedagogical factors and the student performance of nursing students, giving as p value less than 5%.
