- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoHistoria de la prensa escrita cuencana; personajes relevantes y contexto inicial(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2018) Valverde Fernández, Darío Javier; Soto Alemán Mgs., Hernán Leonel; 1400888887In the document, the history of the written press in Cuenca was reviewed, to know the context in whic it was born. They were taken as a reference to the first relevant people, who since 1828, have exercised the journalistic profession. The research started from the arrival of the printig press in the city, until the creation of the newspaper "El Mercurio" in 1924 which marked the establisment of modern journalism. Fray Vicente Solano is emphasized, for being the creator of the first newspaper "Ecos del Azuay". The work was carried out, because it was not located, a file that outlines the history of Cuenca journalism, with current interviews with scholars and lawyers about the topic. There was no compendium of the chronology of journalism in Cuenca, except Antonio Lloret's book, which is taken as the main reference for the structuring of this document. Interviews were conducted to broaden knowledge about historical figures in Morlaco journalism. There is enough literature on the printig press, Vicente Solano, Manuel J. Calle and other relevant figures, but it is difficult to get detailed information about all the journalists that have existed since 1828.
