Ecuador 2018(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2018) Vélez Quinteros, Ismael Agustín; Vallejo Aguirre, Rodrigo Fernando; 0301709143; ., .In assessing the degree of anxiety in the face of the need to visit the dentist, develops in people certain fears depending on the maneuvers that may be exercised by dentists and health personnel, in this study several analyzes were developed to assess the level of anxiety that causes be subject to the maneuvers of these health professionals. OBJECTIVE: To determine the prevalence of dental anxiety by using Children's Fear Survey Schedule Dental Subscale (CFSS DS) and Facial Image Scale (FIS) in schoolchildren from 6 to 12 years of age at the Cojitambo Elementary School. Azogues - Ecuador 2018. MATERIALS AND METHODS: based on a quantitative research approach with descriptive research design, as well as the level of research by type of field research, observational technique and temporality was cross current. The statistical coefficient of Chi Square of Pearson was applied for each case. RESULTS: The results obtained were the degree of Anxiety in models of FIS, in schoolchildren of the Cojitambo school for the male sex with mild anxiety and mild-moderate anxiety was 87.33%, while with moderate anxiety - severe and anxiety Severe was 2.53%. On the other hand, in Feminine Sex the degree of mild and mild-moderate anxiety was 87.09% while the degree for moderate-severe anxiety and severe anxiety was 1.61%. The proportionality of the degree of anxiety according to the model CFSS DS in these children for the items "Much fear" for the different fears highlighted Fear of injections with 28.91% for children, See the dentist drilling with 9.37% for girls, and having to go to the hospital with 9.67% for girls, as regards the fear of anesthesia injections in the sex variable, there was no statistically significant association. However, for the age variable there was a statistically significant association.
