MATERIALS AND METHODS: A quantitative approach study, with a descriptive design, prospective observational, and cross-sectional, was conducted; 328 students of Dental School were evaluated through the "Dental Environment Stress Questionnaire" (DESQ30) RESULTS. Among the most stressful factors during the study of dentistry, the fear of failing a course was first at 57.8%, which was present in 53.1% of males and 60.1% of females; in addition, 71.8% of adolescents and 53.6% of young adults considered this aspect as the most frequent. Students from the first to the tenth cycle thought that the most common stress factor is due to patients arriving late or missing their appointments. CONCLUSIONS Among the psychoemotional states, the most recurring stressors were the fear of failing a course or subject, followed by the stress generated by evaluations and grades; a higher level of stress related to the female sex was evidenced, where a relationship was found with stress in various stressors because of their statistically significant values.
