This disease causes high morbidity and mortality rates in the population; it is also considered a risk factor for developing cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. General objective: To evaluate adults' knowledge and practices on obesity prevention strategies in Azogues from December 2022 to March 2023. Methodology: A correlational, cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach was conducted. A sample of 246 participants was established. Results: Regarding sociodemographic variables, the average age was 35.83 years, and women were 66.3%, 94.3% of the population did not know if their siblings knew strategies and preventive measures for obesity, 57.7% did physical activity, and 52.4% said they consumed junk food. Conclusions: The participating population from Azogues canton is at risk of developing obesity due to unawareness of preventive strategies that could trigger the onset of chronic diseases.
