Revisión de la literatura(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Solís Peñafiel, Jessica Anaí; Morales Bravo, Byron Roberto; 0302587001Background: Bruxism, a harmful motor condition associated with stress, occlusal disorders, allergies, and sleeping postures, causes substantial damage to the tooth’s adamantine structures and organic tissues. Comprehensive rehabilitation of the bruxer consists of restoring the lost tooth structure using adhesive techniques and prosthetic appliances. The correct and timely diagnosis remedies the problem of the dental structures and their neuromuscular behavior, leading to an adequate balance to restore neuromuscular and occlusal functionality. Objective: To know the ideal or optimal protocols for the total rehabilitation of the dental structure according to the degree of dysfunction. Methodology: The research was documentary-descriptive; furthermore, an analysis of literature sources and the addition of scientific articles was carried out. Results: The literature review revealed several treatments for dental rehabilitation, finding the use of direct or indirect composite resin, occlusal splints, ceramic components, and PMMA, among others. Conclusion: Nanotechnology composite resins combined with occlusal splints are practical tools to treat the restoration of lost substrates and temporomandibular disorders successfully.
