Ítem Acceso Abierto Beneficios de la actividad física en el bienestar psicológico y físico en adolescentes: revisión bibliográfica(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Siguencia Verdugo, Freddy David; Jarrin Navas, Santiago Alejandro; 0302546437Adolescence is a crucial stage marked by physical, emotional, and psychosocial transformations. Within a healthy lifestyle, regular physical activity plays an essential role in comprehensive and cognitive development. Despite its benefits, many adolescents fail to achieve the recommended levels of physical activity due to factors such as sedentary lifestyles, pressure to excel in sports, excessive use of electronic devices, and social anxiety in sports. This research aimed to analyze the benefits of physical activity on the psychological and physical well-being of adolescents through a literature review, to understand how physical activity contributes to their holistic development. The methodology was qualitative, using scientific databases such as Redalyc, Google Scholar, SciELO, and Scopus. Twenty-five scientific articles published in the last nine years (2016 to 2025) were included, while theses, monographs, and newspaper articles were excluded. The results analyzed showed that regular exercise is crucial for the physical and mental health of adolescents, not only contributing to the prevention of diseases but also promoting personal development, social adaptation, and emotional well-being. In conclusion, physical activity plays a fundamental role in the overall well-being of adolescents. It is worth emphasizing that it supports and helps prevent psychological disorders such as anxiety and depression. These findings underscore the importance of promoting active habits from a young age. Keywords: psychological benefits, physical benefits, adolescents, physical activity
